To be honest, I just found out more about this solo project. Before that, all I knew were a few songs I found on the Internet (which I have been listening quite regularly during my outdoors incursions - I just go out when necessary) and to know only that, was totally fine and musically fulfilling, if you know what I mean.
Fritz lives in Washington, D.C. and works as a producer for Frontline, an Emmy award winning TV program on PBS. And after knowing that, I found myself thinking about his music through a different perspective - or maybe reenforcing the vision I had created of his aesthetic...
It's impossible not to create this parallel between Washington and its seriousness with the getaway feeling and the escapist, bright atmosphere of his songs.
And I think it's extremely beautiful to think that maybe, after a hard day of work (because as far as I know, Frontline is a serious, investigative tv show, so the subjects he may deal aren't the most pleasant), he goes to his house and wander (or takes long walks) through his 'perfect place' to forget his routine and let another side of him take control to create 3 minutes sunny indie pop gems with electronics and jangling guitars.
Beautiful music and... why so underrated?

"Hard to play favorites (too much amazing stuff around these days), so here's a list of 5 absolute bangers and their respective samples. Listening to a lot of beats lately. Really gets you thinking about the collapse of genre and the utter non-definition of the term indie these days. No order of importance.
