best for guests 2012
Remember last year when we had dozens of guests making lists, picks and reviews about the year in music?
The experience was really fun and had to comeback this year... it is a way to celebrate the year in music bringing together different artists and labels from different places to share their thoughts about the year in music (or their year with music).
Starting this weekend: BEST FOR GUESTS 2012
(In case you don't know what I'm talking about, see the 2011 edition here)

ununiversalizable us
THE VERY MOST UNUNIVERSALIZABLE US (little treasure, 2012)
I love the consistency of great tunes that The Very Most delivers... I mean, they're a band that I don't follow super super closely, but every time something new is released, I'm reminded of how good their playful, easygoing indiepop finesse can be.
Ununiversalizable Us is their latest and it was released last month via Spain's Little Treasure.

happy nice day
NORTHERN PORTRAIT HAPPY NICE DAY SINGLE (Matinée Recordings)
Long time, no see! Denmark's Northern Portrait are back... almost 3 years later. Happy Nice Day is the first single of a 7'' called Pretty Decent Swimmers scheduled to be released on January, 2013 via Matinée.
'Happy Nice Day' follows the signature melodic lines from previous works of the band. But they mean it when they talk about/wish happy nice day, and the result is filled with depth, energy and a vibrant atmosphere.

mateo de la luna en compañía terrestrial
MATEO DE LA LUNA EN COMPANIA TERRESTRIAL S/T (independent, 2011)
It took a year to discover this precious, affecting and romantic indie pop gems coming from Argentina.
The name of the band can be translated as Mateo from the moon with terrestrial company and started as a one man project (Mateo). Later, two of his friends became his terrestrial company.
Their debut ep is available for free download on bandcamp. Five songs dripping naivety, melancholic melodies and messages of love.

ABADABAD CALIFORNIA BIRDS
After talking about Abadabad's latest release - The Wild EP - and some non stopping listening, I felt like making a video for one of their songs.
While, 'All The Bros Say' is the must listening song from the EP, 'California Birds' was the one that inspired me. Well, timing played a big part on it: the song was playing while I was going through some movies and when I saw the name Winged Migration, it wasn't very hard to connect the dots between movie and song.
According to Abadabad, it is a rad mix of trippy birds. Couldn't describe it better.
